I'm a great believer in past lives and that somehow this life is a continuation of what it was we set out to do when we decided to incarnate on this planet. Most of us however, cannot remember our past lives and what or who we were in our previous existence. However, certain things that cannot be explained by either nature (genetic) or nurture (the way we are brought up) are clear manifestations of who we really are. In the case of child geniuses, when children are accomplished to do, say, think or create amazing things well beyond their years, I'm persuaded that they simply remember the talents that they already possess in their previous life and are able to continue them in this life due to unfinished mission or intense passion.
Check out Emily Bear in these videos in her interviews with Ellen a few years back. We cannot but be amazed at the gift that the child has but also can only wonder (and perhaps guess) at who she was in her past life. A pianist and composer with many unfinished creations that are determined to be made manifest! Or the little 3 year old drummer who understands and can follow a beat even when toddlers of his age are still struggling to hold a pencil...
